Middle-aged man with long-standing large neck carotid body tumour on the background of SDHD-mutation, with newly diagnosed wide-spread osseous metastatic disease on F-18 FDG (a). Ga-68 DOTATATE (b) demonstrates superior tumour-to-background contrast with identification of greater number of metastases compared to FDG. The disease stage (stage IV), however, is not altered by the greater detection rate of DOTATATE PET/CT but confirms suitability for peptide receptor radionuclide therapy
